Meacham’s Alchemists

Documentary, 75 minutes

A world famous novel. A tiny hamlet of 85 residents. A stage play that will change their lives forever. Meacham’s Alchemists is a story of the adaptation of Paulo Coelho’s world best-selling novel “The Alchemist” to the stage by Dancing Sky Theatre.

Dancing Sky is a professional theatre that for 15 years has been very successfully producing plays in the tiny hamlet of Meacham, Saskatchewan, Canada, which is home only to 85 people – half of them artists.

The adaptation process is juxtaposed with the personal journeys of actors and how their stories reflect the narrative and message of the original novel “The Alchemist” which changed the lives of a multitude of people around the world.
